The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. As I was hiking along the King Creek trail in Lassen Volcanic National Park, this small rock got my attention as the sun ray just shined directly on it. It took me a while to find a perfect angle and position to anchor my tripod against the strong current, but at the end I was quite happy with the result here.
